Out & About in the 'Burbs This Weekend: Memorial Day 2014!

Happy Memorial Day Weekend! Hope you’ve got some great plans in the works, be in beaches, BBQs or just some much-needed R&R. Here’s what to keep on your radar going into the weekend.

Getting ready to close? Be sure you’ve got your closing costs covered, which, on average, can be 2-4% or more of your home value.

Mortgage rates continue to decline—good news for buyers.

If you’re moving from a rental apartment into your new home, make sure you safeguard yourself from losing that all-important security deposit.

It’s the perfect weekend to hit the beach! What better way to kick off summer, right? And—just your luck!—some of the best beaches in the area are in Westchester, Long Island, New Jersey and Connecticut!

The Oakland Beach in Rye is a municipal beach open to the public, 9:00am – 6:00pm. Parking is $15 on the weekends.

In Port Washington, North Hempstead Beach Park is the place to be, with a full beach, basketball and bocce courts, picnic areas and fishing. It’s open starting this weekend, 9:00am – dusk and parking is $20 for non-residents.

Sandy Hook Beach and Lighthouse is just an hour’s drive from NYC. The seven-mile stretch of spectacular ocean and bay beaches are excellent for surf casting, swimming, and relaxing on the sand.

Byram Beach & Pool and Greenwich opened this past weekend, and will be open all weekend long!

Enjoy the holiday weekend with your family!
