OUT & ABOUT IN THE 'BURBS THIS WEEKEND: OCTOBER 24-26, 2014

It’s the weekend—and almost time for Halloween! Here’s what’s going on in the market, plus some semi-spooky activities for the whole family.

• For the first time since June 2013, mortgage rates have dipped below 4%
• The rent vs. buy debate continues
• Why it will soon be easier to get a mortgage—and the timing couldn’t be better

Get those costumes out—it’s time to trick-or-treat EARLY!

• The Kids Spooktacular at the Westchester Mall is happening this Saturday from 11:30-1pm. Don those costumes and get ready for plenty of candy, music, giveaways and more.
• In Port Washington, Halloween on Main kicks off at 12:30pm, starting at Sunset Park. Kids can trick-or-treat up and down Main Street until 4pm.
• On Sunday, Freehold’s Halloween Spooktacular features a costume parade and contests for the best dressed. Dog and parents can dress up and participate, too!
• Likewise, pets AND people can dress up, show off their costumes and trick-or-treat at Greenwich’s Howl & Prowl on Sunday.
