Three NYC zips made the cut—10012, 10014 and 10065—along with Alpine, NJ where the median home price is more than $3.8 million (DOWN 8% year-over-year!). Lower than Low? Mortgage rates hover around historic low Thirty-year fixed mortgages dropped again last week, hitting 3.4%. This is down slightly from the prior week by 0.01%, and less than 0.1% away from the historic lows seen in November. What's more, 15-year fixed-rate mortgage hit a new low last week landing at 2.61%. Prior to last week, the record was 2.63%. This welcoming trend has driven many to act, and the trend is expected to continue as the market gets more and more competitive in the warmer months. Read more...
